For 2012, we are bringing back our Drum Solo Contest with a twist!
Ta’arab Tabla 2012 is open to both male and female dancers with 5 or more years of professional bellydance experience. The contest will be open to a maximum of 20 contestants. There will be two rounds, preliminary and final. Only 10 contestants will move on to the final round. While performances can be the same for both the preliminary and final rounds, contestants are encouraged to showcase versatility and creativity by presenting different and powerful performances for each round.

- Instructor contract at Black Orchid Danse 2013 5th anniversary festival
- Performance slot in Black Orchid’s 2012 Gala Show (Sunday), Title & Trophy
2nd Prize
- Complimentary weekend package to Black Orchid Danse 2013 5th anniversary festival
- Title & Trophy
3rd Prize
- One (1) hour photo shoot with Black Orchid’s 2012 official event photographer

Contest Registration
Other Details:
- The judges will be selected from among Black Orchid Danse’s 2012 Guest Instructors.
- All contestants must register for a minimum of 3 dance workshops to be eligible to participate in the contest
- The registration deadline is March 15, 2012
- Registration fee is $75, please include the last 4 digits for your workshop registration in the comments section
- Upon verifying your registration, Contestant will be emailed an acceptance package. Please be prepared to submit a bio, photo, dance resume and a recent performance video.
- Performance time is limited to 4 minutes
- Middle Eastern/Bellydance music only
- Performances must be of your own creativity or improvisation
- While contestants are not required to register for the full weekend package, priority will be given to those who purchase the full weekend package.
