About us

Today’s Bellydance is a fusion of many dance styles that attracts students of all ages, sex and body types with its rich culture and beauty.  It is an expressive dance form encompassing one’s body, mind and soul through movement and music.

As students of this graceful dance, we learn to open our minds and hearts to embrace its true beauty, origins and diversity.  Through every movement, we take one step closer to developing a unique dance style so making it our “own” while enhancing self-esteem and self-confidence yet enjoying freedom and self-empowerment as we become one with the dance.

Black Orchid Danse was created to broaden the art and experiences of Middle Eastern Dance through the promotion of diversely dynamic workshops and performances within a uniquely diverse community.

Since its inception, Black Orchid Danse has now had the pleasure of hosting some of the world’s best bellydance and folkloric dancers and musicians.

Saamiyah, founder of Black Orchid Danse, would like to thank all of her teachers, former and present, the professional artists under which she has studied and hosted, and the many, many friends met along this awesome journey of dance.  Without their unwavering support, guidance and teachings none of this would be possible.  Thank YOU!!!!
