Drum Solo Contest

To be eligible to complete in the drum solo contest, the deadline for workshops and contest registration is February 28, 2010.

Performance Opportunities for Friday & Sunday Gala Shows

Requests for performance opportunities will be accepted through March 15, 2010.  Once registered, please email us expressing your interest in performing.

As we are offering two shows, there will be a number of performance slots available.  It is our desire to present not only exceptionally, amazing shows but to also spotlight all genres of dance and ranges of talent.  We welcome all requests.  Those participants purchasing the full weekend package, traveling from out of town, troupes and artist with unique and exceptional dance talent will be given first priority.  Once your request has been received, please be prepared to submit a recent DVD/You Tube video upon request.

Group of 6 or more will receive a 7% for 6 on the total group payment.  To secure the group discount, all registrations must be submitted together and all participants must register for workshop packages of approximately equal value.  For online registration, click here!

ABOUT THE CONTEST

The judges will be Tito Seif, Kaeshi Chai, & DaVid of Scandinavia.

• Contest applications will be accepted between January 2, 2010 and February 15, 2010.
• Contest is open to all soloists & troupes 18 years and older of an advance, semi-professional or professional dance status.
• Performance times will be limited to 3.5 mins. NO EXCEPTIONS!
• Registration fee: Soloist $50, Troupes $100 (First 2 dancers, $25 each additional dancer)
• Contestants will be limited to 20.  In the event there are more than 20 applications, a panel of judges will select the contestants.  At that time, you will be asked to submit a DVD or You tube video of a recent performance. Refunds will be issued to those not selected to compete.
• Contest is open to workshop participants purchasing 4 or more classes.
• Only Middle Eastern / Bellydance Music will be permitted.
• The judges’ decisions are final.
• There will be 3 prize awards:

First Prize

• 2011 Black Orchid Danse VIP Weekend Package
• Performance slot in Black Orchid Danse’s Sunday (2010) Gala Dinner Show**

Second Prize

• A private coaching session an event instructor of the winner’s choice. Value $75.
• $125 merchandise certificate from one of the event’s vendors.

People’s Choice

• A private coaching session an event instructor of the winner’s choice. Value $75.
• $50 merchandise certificate from one of the event’s vendors.
